All three of the drinks were perfectly balanced. When I commented that the Aviator was similar to the The Last Word, Jeremy immediately identified the ingredient (Maraschino) in common. My husband ordered the Pamplemousse and I ordered the Aviator. Jeremy works the section closer to the door which is where we sat. Jeremy and Andy divide the bar between them. Blueprint is our local friends' favorite Friday night destination and it is easy to see why. We recently wandered into Blueprint around midnight on a Saturday evening after dinner at The Good Fork and dancing at Barbes. This is a restaurant not an "attraction", though it is very attractive.

BLUEPRINT BROOKLYN UPDATE

TripAdvisor needs to update their classification for Blueprint. Overall, I really enjoyed Blueprint and will definitely go back again. The décor is charming and you’re bathed in a warm, yellow light that is at the right brightness level – low enough to again maintain an intimate setting but bright enough so you can still see your menu without having to use your phone. Tables are on the smaller side so you can still hear whomever you’re with. The place does get a bit loud, mostly due to it being on the smaller side, but it still is quite an intimate setting. Most other spots similar to Blueprint, you’d probably be looking at $!6-18 a cocktail. Cocktails are $13 (a couple are $14), which I feel is a steal. Overall the bill came to around $116 without tip and I think for all that yummy food and 2 rounds of delicious drinks, that’s really good. I think the dish just needed more caramel, and more heat. The whipped cream was also really bland, though it is topped with caramel. I would’ve preferred the whipped cream to have been served at room temperature. The Bread Pudding was good and maybe just another personal preference, but the whipped cream was so cold and I felt like the bread pudding could’ve been a bit warmer. I think cutting the mushrooms into smaller bites so that it blends more would make a huge difference. The Rabbit Pot Pie was good but there were so many mushrooms and in such big chunks too that it felt more like a mushroom pot pie than anything. I just have a personal preference for brussels sprouts to be crispier all the way through but they were still overall really good. The Roasted Brussels Sprout were tasty flavor-wise. I did like the Chicken Liver Mousse which they plated with pickles and finishing salt on the side. The food was good but I wouldn’t say it’ll blow you away. He ordered the My Dear Julius and mine was something with the word Never in it.įor food we ordered the Burrata Bruschetta, Chicken Liver Mousse, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Rabbit Pot Pie, and their Caramel Bread Pudding for dessert. They have a nice selection of creative cocktails and both what my boyfriend I ordered were delicious.

There’s outside seating in the back but I didn’t get a chance to take a look. Throughout the night, I’d say it never really got packed - always just at the brim, which is perfect since the place is a bit narrow and doesn’t really allow for people to stand behind those seated at the bar. The wait wasn’t very long, probably less than 10 minutes. When we arrived at Blueprint, there were no tables available but there was one seat left at the bar, so we figured we’d post up and order a couple drinks while we waited until a table opened up. I came across Blueprint, which unfortunately does not take reservations, but did meet the rest of the criteria. I was searching online for a place with good food, good cocktails, within the sweet spot of affordability that’s not crazy expensive but is nice enough for a date, and one that would hopefully have a table available for a last-minute reservation on a Saturday evening.
